KATHUA; 21 JAN:- J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Ms.Mohita Sharma IPS* intercepted one Mahindra Load Carrier vehicle laden with 37 logs of “Khair Wood” (weighing approx.22 Quintals) in the jurisdictional area of PP Marheen (PS Rajbagh) which were allegedly being smuggled from Marheen area and said vehicle was seized in this connection.
On 19.01.2026 during wee hours, police team led by IC PP Marheen PSI Gulshan Partap Singh under the guidance of *SP Ops Kathua Sh. Mukund Tibrewal IPS*, SDPO Border Sh. Dheeraj Katoch & SHO PS Rajbagh Insp Ajay Chib while laying special naka checking in its jurisdictional area intercepted one vehicle(Mahindra Load Carrier bearing Reg. No. JK08J-5539) loaded with illegal Khair Wood. On seeing the police party the driver fled away from the spot leaving the vehicle behind.During checking, 37 Logs of Khair wood (weighing approx. 22 Qunitals) have been recovered from the said vehicle. As the matter pertains to the Forest Department, vehicle along with Khair wood logs have been seized and lateron handed over to the officials of the forest department for further course of action.
