Birth and Early Life:
Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal was born in Village Diani, Tehsil and District Samba, Jammu and Kashmir. His journey into public service began with his dedication to healthcare and the well-being of the community.
Medical Career:
Dr. Manyal graduated in 1995 with an MBBS degree, after which he served as a Government Medical Officer (GMO) at the Sub District Hospital in Samba. He did PG in Orthopedic in 2002 His commitment to improving health services led to his appointment as the Incharge Block Medical Officer (BMO) in 2005, where he served in various capacities at different locations, including BMO Purmandal and BMO Nud and then Incharge Deputy Chief Medical Officer Samba.
Political Career:
Driven by a desire to serve the community in new ways, Dr. Manyal joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2014, a year that marked a significant turning point in his career. His deep commitment to public welfare and development led to his election as the MLA for the Samba Assembly Constituency in the year 2014 Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections. As an MLA, he actively worked on issues related to health, education, infrastructure, and the welfare of the people of his constituency.
In 2018, he was appointed as the Jammu and Kashmir Health Minister and Medical Education, playing a crucial role in enhancing healthcare services and medical education in the region.
Current Role:
Dr. Manyal continues to serve the people of Jammu and Kashmir as the General Secretary of BJP J&K. He is currently the MLA from Ramgarh, a newly created assembly constituency in the Samba District. Through his leadership, he has championed the development of this area, focusing on addressing local needs and ensuring the growth of essential services.
