The Maulana Anwar Shah Kashmiri Memorial Volleyball Tournament, organized by the Warnow Volleyball Association with the support of the Indian Army, has become a thrilling celebration in Kupwara. This event, designed to give young players in Lolab Valley a platform to showcase their skills, has united the community like never before.

Held twice a year, the tournament rotates between different villages of the valley, promoting sports, unity, and peace. Yesterday’s quarterfinals and semifinals were filled with intense matches, leading to today’s grand finale between the Badibhera Ballers and Wawoora Warriors.

In an electrifying clash, the Badibhera Ballers emerged victorious, claiming the championship trophy and a cash prize of ₹5000. The runners-up, Wawoora Warriors, received ₹3000, while the third-place team took home ₹1000, encouraging budding talent.

The tournament has brought together spectators of all ages, celebrating not just the sport, but the spirit of community. Every point scored sparked cheers and applause, showcasing the incredible energy and camaraderie present in Lolab Valley.

This tournament is more than just a competition—it’s a testament to the power of sports to unite people, celebrate talent, and create lasting bonds. As I witnessed the matches unfold, I couldn’t help but feel proud of the growing unity and joy within our communities.
