NDA to Organise ‘Bal Sansad’ – A Child-Centric Civic Awareness Initiative at The Shri Ram Universal School, Jakh
JAMMU : Bal Sansad 2026, a child-centric civic awareness initiative, has been conceptualized and organized by the Nations Development Association (NDA) with the aim of introducing young children to the basic principles of democracy, constitutional values, and responsible citizenship in an engaging and age-appropriate manner. The organization is registered with NITI Aayog and affiliated with MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
Designed specifically for children aged 5 to 7 years, Bal Sansad focuses on experiential and participatory learning to help develop confidence, communication skills, teamwork, empathy, and early leadership qualities. Through interactive sessions, role play, mock parliamentary activities, and guided discussions, children will gain a foundational understanding of democratic processes and civic responsibility in a joyful learning environment.
The programme will be held on 25 February 2026 at The Shri Ram Universal School, Jakh, in collaboration with MY Bharat, Government of India. The event aims to provide a unique platform where young learners can express their ideas, learn the importance of dialogue, and appreciate the values of equality, participation, and collective decision-making.
All participating children will be awarded Participation Certificates jointly issued by NDA and MY Bharat. In addition, children demonstrating exceptional confidence, leadership, creativity, and teamwork will be honoured with special awards, encouraging positive learning and motivation at an early age.
The initiative is powered by The Shri Ram Universal School, Jakh and is supported by Nirbhay Bharat Foundation, Team Prayaas, and Bhumitr Foundation, reflecting a collective effort by educational institutions and civil society organizations to nurture socially responsible future citizens.
