BOMIS Pampore Hosts Inter-School Tilawat-e-Quran and Group Naat Competition During Firaaq-e-Ramadhan

Pampore, March 2025 – Birla Open Minds International School (BOMIS) Pampore recently organized a spiritually uplifting Inter-School Tilawat-e-Quran and Group Naat Competition to mark the holy month of Ramadhan. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various schools, creating an atmosphere of devotion and reverence.

Renowned Islamic scholar Peerzada Maulana Shakeel ur Rehman Owasi praised the young participants, stating, “It is heartening to witness these students express their deep love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) through soulful recitations. Their sincerity and devotion truly embody the spirit of Ramadhan. I commend BOMIS Pampore for organizing this inspiring event, which fosters faith and spirituality among the youth.”

The program commenced with an enlightening address by Ghulam Hassan Ghamgeen, a renowned Kashmiri poet and former senior broadcaster at All India Radio (Radio Kashmir). He highlighted the art of Naat recitation, emphasizing its poetic and spiritual significance while inspiring students to blend devotion with discipline in their performances.

Speaking at the event, Principal of BOMIS Pampore, Dr. Mehnaz Rehman, expressed gratitude to the participating schools and jury members. She remarked, “It is an honor to host such a meaningful event that celebrates the beauty of Quranic recitation and devotional poetry. This platform not only nurtures young talents but also strengthens the spiritual foundation of our students. We are proud to contribute to their connection with faith and spirituality.”

The esteemed panel of judges included Peerzada Maulana Shakeel ur Rehman Owasi, Mirwaiz of Khanqah-e-Faiz Panah Pakherpora and District President of Karwan-e-Islami International, Shopian, along with Ghulam Hassan Ghamgeen. Both judges brought their expertise and deep understanding of Quranic recitation and Naat to the event.

Students from Green Valley Educational Institution, Kashmir Harvard School, Dolphin International School Pulwama, Doon International School Baramulla, and Hamdania Mission School participated in the competition. Their exceptional performances in Quranic recitation and group Naats reflected profound spiritual commitment and reverence.

The event concluded with heartfelt commendations for all participants, leaving the audience inspired by the young generation’s devotion and talent.
