SAMBA : Deputy Commissioner Samba, Ms. Ayushi Sudan, IAS, today convened a meeting to review the implementation and progress of the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) scheme in the district.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to expand coverage among unorganised sector workers to ensure they are brought under the ambit of social security benefits. She highlighted that the PM-SYM scheme plays a crucial role in securing the future of workers who do not have access to formal social security mechanisms.
The DC issued clear directions to all concerned line departments to intensify grassroots-level mobilisation and awareness efforts for maximum outreach.
Departments were instructed to identify eligible beneficiaries within their respective jurisdictions and facilitate their enrollment through focused field-level activities.
To ensure effective monitoring and timely execution, department-wise targets were assigned, and officers were directed to submit day-wise progress reports.
The meeting also stressed the importance of close coordination with field staff, CSC centres, PRIs, and concerned agencies to conduct on-the-spot registration and awareness drives.
The Deputy Commissioner strictly urged all officers to work with dedication and coordinated efforts so that the district achieves full saturation under the PM-SYM scheme within the stipulated timeframe.
The meeting was attended by CPO Samba, PO ICDS, ACD, CEO, CMO, ALC Samba, AD Handicrafts, AD Handloom, and other concerned officers.
