DEO reviews Preparations for Assembly elections in Samba District

SAMBA: District Election Officer Samba (DEO), Rajesh Sharma convened a comprehensive review meeting today to assess the preparations for the upcoming General Elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, 2024.

The meeting, held at the Conference Hall of the DC Office, Samba, saw active participation from all designated Nodal Officers.

The DEO engaged in detailed discussions with each officer regarding their specific roles and responsibilities, with progress updates provided on various critical aspects, including the preparation of counting arrangements, manpower management, law and order, security planning, welfare logistics, polling staff training, expenditure monitoring, SVEEP initiatives, cyber security, transport management and postal ballot arrangements.

The DEO emphasized the importance of seamless coordination and proactive measures to ensure that the election process is conducted smoothly and efficiently. Special attention was given to finalizing security arrangements and ensuring the welfare of polling personnel. Officers were instructed to promptly address any challenges identified during the discussions and to maintain ongoing communication with relevant departments.

The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to ensure a free, fair and peaceful election in Samba District
