“Detailed discussions were taken up” Congress MP Pramod Tiwari on meeting over Haryana polls

UTTARN PRADESH: Congress MP Pramod Tiwari on Friday said that the review meeting to discuss the unexpected results of the Haryana Assembly elections was productive, with detailed discussions.
The Congress party held a review meeting on Thursday to discuss the unexpected results of the Haryana Assembly elections.

“Review meeting was held yesterday and detailed discussions were taken up. Meetings will be held even in the time to come. The decisions that are taken will be told to everyone. We will follow the suggestions, if any,” he said.
When asked about the outcome of the meeting of Congress delegation with the Election Commission of India over the Haryana polls, Tiwari said, “We were deliberately defeated on 20 seats. There was a very low margin. We were leading in the beginning but later the counting was slowed down, it causes suspicion. Elections should not only be fair but also transparent. So, it is necessary that re-counting on those 20 seats is held again.”
Meanwhile, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the main reason for the defeat of Congress was that there was a war between leaders within the party.

“Dirt on the face can’t be cleaned by cleaning the mirror. That’s what Congress is trying to do…to blame your failures on EVM machines and like that they will never be able to get to the bottom of this…main reason was that there was a war between leaders within Congress,” Naqvi said.
A delegation of Congress including KC Venugopal, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Ashok Gehlot Pratap Singh Bajwa, Jairam Ramesh, Pawan Khera, Ajay Maken and Uday Bhan went to meet the Election Commission of India to address their concerns over the results of Haryana assembly polls.
Addressing the media, Bhupinder Singh Hooda described the election result as ‘surprising’. He also mentioned that Congress was ahead when ballots were counted and raised questions about EVM.
“Everyone thought that Congress will form the government in Haryana. Be it IB, experts, survey reports, but what happened was that when the counting of postal ballots started, Congress was leading everywhere, but when the counting of EVMs started, Congress was lagging behind,” Hooda said.
The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) is poised to form the government for the third consecutive term in Haryana after the party secured 48 seats in the Haryana assembly elections. This is the party’s biggest victory in assembly polls in the state. The Congress won 37 seats while the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won two seats. Independents won three seats. (ANI)
