JAMMU : Dr. Romesh Kumar’s book, “Happy Schools: Placing Happiness at the Heart of Schools”, has made it to the University of California, Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center’s (GGSC) Favorite Books List for Educators 2025.
Notably, “Happy Schools” is the only Indian title featured in this predominantly international list.
The GGSC, a respected institution promoting well-being and positive education, praised the book as “thought-provoking, inspirational and practical”. This recognition highlights Dr. Kumar’s work on happiness, mental health and well-being in schools.
Vicki Zakrzewski, Education Director at GGSC, said the list showcases books promoting well-being and connection.
Dr. Kumar, Head of Department at DIET Jammu, reaffirmed his commitment towards prioritizing happiness and mental health in schools.
“Happy Schools” is recommended for the educators, school leaders, policymakers and students, offering guidance on building supportive schools.
Dr. Kumar is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and continues to advocate for holistic well-being in education.
