Handwara Police Holds Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) Meeting

 

Handwara, Dec 3, 2024: In an effort to strengthen police-public relations and address public concerns, a Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting was held today at the Police Station Handwara. The meeting was chaired by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Handwara, Shri Mushtaq Ahmed-JKPS, with the presence of SDPO Handwara, Shri Hamid Ali-JKPS, SHO PS Handwara, Inspector Showkat Ahmad, and other officers and officials.

The meeting was attended by respected members of the Handwara community, including religious leaders, members of the Trade Federation, Numberdars, and Chowkidars, who raised various issues of public importance.

During his address, the SSP emphasized that such meetings are vital for gathering suggestions and support from the public to improve policing. He assured that similar meetings will be held in the future.

The SSP expressed gratitude to the attendees for their participation and valuable input. Regarding the concerns raised by the community, he assured that the issues would be taken up with the relevant authorities for immediate resolution. He further assured that the police would provide legal assistance whenever required for the welfare of society.

Participants were urged to cooperate with Handwara Police in maintaining law and order, as well as in identifying anti-national and anti-social elements attempting to disturb the peaceful environment of the area.

SSP Handwara also reiterated the police’s commitment to continuing its aggressive stance against drug peddlers, emphasizing the importance of public cooperation in identifying those involved in the drug trade to facilitate swift action.

The meeting concluded with a note of appreciation and gratitude from the public for the police’s efforts in fostering community cooperation.
