Iran-Israel war LIVE: In call with PM Modi, Iran’s President calls on BRICS to play ‘independent role in halting aggressions’

In a call with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Iranian President Pezeshkian on Saturday (March 21, 2026) referred to the current presidency of India in the BRICS grouping and said it should play an “independent role” in bringing the attacks by the U.S. and Israel to a “halt”. He said the “prerequisite” to bringing the war to an end is the “immediate cessation of aggressions by the U.S. and Israel”

The U.S. military said on Saturday (March 21, 2026) that Iran’s ability to threaten the Strait of Hormuz has been “degraded” by the bombing this week of an underground facility where it stored cruise missiles and other weaponry.
