BANDIPORA : The J&K Senior Citizens Council for Peace and Civil Rights (SCC) held a significant Peace Conference today at Higher Secondary School (HSS) Nadihal, Bandipora. The event was organized by Abdul Majeed Bichoo, President of the J&K Senior Citizens Council, and Riyaz Ahmad, District President Bandipora of the Council. The conference was chaired by Mohammad Hussain Magray, Principal of HSS Nadihal.
In his address, Abdul Majeed Bichoo emphasized the importance of maintaining a peaceful atmosphere in Bandipora and throughout Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the critical role of youth in fostering peace and communal harmony, urging them to take on the responsibility of ensuring a stable and secure environment.
The conference also marked the launch of the Council’s youth initiative, “Youth for Peace,” starting from Bandipora . This initiative aims to actively engage the youth of J&K in peacebuilding activities. The Council plans to extend this initiative to other parts of the valley in the coming months.
While the road to peace has its challenges, the efforts of team of the Senior Citizens Council, along with the support of peace-loving individuals, have already yielded positive results. The Council remains committed to removing obstacles and promoting peace and unity across Jammu and Kashmir. Mr murtza Sayad Shah a youth of Nidhal local business man offered his volunteer services for Involving and strengthening the local youth for peace activities. Manzoor Ahmad Batt of the institution extend vote of thanks where as the lecturers of the institution also gave a worm welcome to the team of Sr. Citizens Council. At the end Riyaz Ahmad Distt President Bandipora and Principal of the Institute viz HSS Nadihal were honoured for the initiative taken by them in prompting peace and maintaining the Harmony .
