SAMBA : The festival of Lohri was celebrated with great enthusiasm and traditional fervour at various locations in Ramgarh, including Bainglar and Chamliyal, in collaboration with 125 Battalion BSF and 101 Battalion BSF. The celebrations reflected the spirit of unity, cultural heritage, and brotherhood, especially in the border areas.
On the occasion, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, Hon’ble MLA Ramgarh and Former Minister for Health and Medical Education, Jammu & Kashmir, extended warm Lohri greetings to the people and BSF personnel. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Manyal highlighted that Lohri symbolizes prosperity, hope, and collective harmony, and such celebrations strengthen the bond between civilians and security forces posted in border regions. He lauded the role of BSF jawans for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation while actively participating in social and cultural activities with the local population.
Dr. Manyal further said that celebrating festivals together sends a strong message of unity, peace, and mutual respect, and helps in preserving the rich cultural traditions of the region.
Those present on the occasion included DDC Rajpura, District President Asha Rani, Assistant Commandant Surjeet Singh, Assistant Commandant Bhupinder Kumar, Retd. Col. Som Nath, District General Secretary Amit Dubey, Rakesh Singh, Harvinder Singh President OBC Morcha, President Bainglar Narinder Singh Jamwal, President Rajpura Asha Rani, President Ramgarh Nancy Choudhary, Bika Sharma, along with other party workers, BSF officers and jawans, and a large number of local residents.
The event was marked by traditional Lohri rituals, bonfire celebrations, and interaction between public representatives, BSF personnel, and villagers. The celebrations concluded on a positive note, reaffirming the collective resolve to maintain peace, harmony, and cultural unity in the border belt of Ramgarh.
