JAMMU : On the eve of “World Hepatitis Day’” inauguration of Mega Screening of High Risk group was done in Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu by Director Health Services Jammu, Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar who was accompanied by Chief Medical Officer Jammu, Dr. Harbaksh Singh & Medical Superintendent Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu,Dr. Narinder Bhatial.
In this event, Dr. Rolly Sharma( RMNCHA Consultant, NRHM) gave a brief account on National Viral Hepatitis Control Programme (NVHCP). Dr. Sri Ram DNB Resident of Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu gave a detailed PPT on various aspects, its causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment & its prevention. Senior Consultants, Medical Officers, Paramedics & Students were a part of this academic session. The Chief Medical Officer Jammu Dr. Harbaksh Singh while speaking on the topic laid emphasis on healthy food & avoiding street food to prevent Hepatitis A.
Director Health Services Jammu, Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar appreciated the team for organizing such a mega screening camp. In mega screening camp around 160 tests were conducted for both Hepatitis B & C. Also Hepatitis immunization was given to the hospital staff & sanitary workers. Medical Superintendent Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu, Dr. Narinder Bhatial made tireless effort in coordinating this event, ensuring smooth execution of this event.
