JAMMU : The Directorate of Employment, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, successfully organized the Potential Entrepreneurship Mela across all the 20 districts of the Union Territory under the visionary Mission YUVA. The initiative witnessed an overwhelming participation of over 10,000 youth, underscoring the growing enthusiasm for self-employment and entrepreneurial ventures among the region’s young population.
The Mela aimed to foster a vibrant culture of innovation, enterprise creation, and self-reliance by bringing information and opportunities directly to aspiring youth at the grassroots level. Held simultaneously across districts, the camps acted as one-stop facilitation centres providing comprehensive information on nano-enterprises, MSMEs, sector-specific business ideas, and available government support mechanisms.
To ensure ease of access, on-the-spot registrations were enabled through the Mission YUVA mobile app and web portal, allowing young participants to seamlessly connect with schemes, training, and mentorship opportunities offered under the Mission.
The Mela also featured interactive awareness sessions, sensitizing youth to the benefits of entrepreneurship, available financial and institutional support, and long-term handholding provisions being institutionalized through Mission YUVA. Special focus was placed on capacity building, innovation-driven enterprise models, and the creation of sustainable livelihoods.
This successful district-level outreach marks a significant milestone in advancing the objectives of Mission YUVA and reaffirms the J&K Government’s commitment to youth empowerment, inclusive economic development, and the creation of a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem across the Union Territory.
