SAMBA : Under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Samba, Ayushi Sudan, Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) District Level Committee Meeting was held at DC Office Samba.
The meeting reviewed the prevailing situation related to drug abuse and trafficking in the district and assessed the progress on decisions taken at previous meeting. Discussions were held on strengthening Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities, functioning of established psychiatric and counseling facility at District Hospital, inspection of chemist shops, strengthening of youth clubs and social organisations, installation of confidential feedback mechanisms in educational institutions, and enforcement drives.
Emphasising a zero-tolerance approach towards the drug menace, the need for coordinated inter-departmental action, effective intelligence sharing, community participation, and strict enforcement of laws was emphasised. The important role of youth and social organisations in making anti-drug efforts more effective was also reiterated.
The concerned departments were directed to intensify monitoring, strengthen preventive measures, and ensure timely reporting of actions taken. The district administration reiterated its commitment to making Samba a drug-free district through sustained and collective efforts.
The meeting was attended by ADC Samba Jagdish Singh, ACR Samba Ajay Bharti, GM DIC Gurpreet Singh, district heads of various line departments and senior police officials.
