SAMBA : In an effort to promote democratic values, civic awareness and leadership skills among young learners, Nations Development Association (NDA) today announced the organisation of Bal Sansad, a child-centric civic awareness programme, scheduled to be held on March 24, 2026, at The Shri Ram Universal School, Jakh.
The announcement was made during a press conference held at Samba. Addressing the media, Sushil Singh Charak, Chief Functionary, NDA, informed that the programme has been rescheduled in view of the ongoing examinations of school children. He stated that Bal Sansad has been conceptualized to introduce children to the basic principles of democracy, constitutional values and civic responsibility in an age-appropriate, engaging and interactive manner.
The programme will be organised in collaboration with MY Bharat, Government of India, and is designed specifically for children in the 5 to 7 years age group. Through structured activities and simulated parliamentary proceedings, children will be encouraged to express their views, listen respectfully to others and understand collective decision-making.
Shivani Vaid Sharma, Chief, Women Wing, NDA, emphasized that early exposure to participatory platforms plays a crucial role in building confidence, communication abilities and leadership qualities among children.
Sarika General Secretary Bal Sansad stated that initiatives such as Bal Sansad are instrumental in shaping socially conscious and responsible future citizens.
The organisers further informed that all participating children will receive Participation Certificates from MY Bharat, while outstanding performers will be honoured with awards. The programme is powered by The Shri Ram Universal School, Jakh and supported by Nirbhay Bharat Foundation, Prayaas and Bhumitr Foundation. Others present on the occasion included Happy Sharma.
