Handwara, January 26: The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with grandeur and patriotic fervor at the District Police Lines (DPL) Handwara, bringing together dignitaries, officials, security personnel, and civilians in a vibrant display of national pride.
The event commenced with the ceremonial unfurling of the national flag by Hakeem Tanveer, ICDS District Programme Officer (DPO), Kupwara, followed by an inspiring address that emphasized the significance of the day.
Prominent dignitaries graced the occasion, including Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Handwara Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary, Tehsildar Handwara Zeeshan Khan, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Handwara Zaffar Iqbal, and principals of Government Medical College (GMC) and Government Degree College (GDC) Handwara. Senior officials from various departments, the Army, BSF, CRPF, and members of the District Development Council (DDC) also participated, showcasing a united commitment to democracy, unity, and development.
