JAMMU : In a meaningful initiative aligned with global priorities on mental health and sustainable development, an awareness programme titled “Green Minds, Bright Futures: Youth for a Sustainable Tomorrow” was organized by Nations Development Association (NDA). The organization is registered with NITI Aayog and affiliated with MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, in collaboration with Srijan International School, Jammu.
The programme focused on strengthening youth and educator engagement around the interconnected themes of mental well-being, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development, witnessing active participation from the school’s teaching and administrative staff.
Dr. Romesh Kumar, Head of Department, DIET Jammu & Renowned Psychologist and Author of Happy Schools , graced the event as Chief Guest and underscored the vital role of educators in nurturing emotionally resilient, socially responsible, and sustainability-oriented future generations.

A dedicated mental health awareness session addressed stress management, emotional balance, and the importance of maintaining a healthy mindset within educational environments. Dr. Sanjolly Gupta, Project Research Scientist (ICMR–AIIMS Jammu), shared research-based insights highlighting evidence-driven approaches to mental well-being in institutions.
During the Vote of Thanks, Vice Principal Ms. Karina Kour appreciated Mr. Sushil Singh Charak, Chief Functionary, NDA, for his leadership in promoting youth-led initiatives. She acknowledged his recent international recognition at the United Nations High-Level Meeting on Noncommunicable Diseases and Mental Health, reinforcing the growing role of civil society and youth voices in global public health and sustainable development discourse.
