JAMMU : Srijan International School, Jammu celebrated its Annual Sports Day on December 20, 2025, under the inspiring theme “NIRMAAN”, emphasising the importance of sports in building discipline, confidence, teamwork, and strong character from an early age. Students from Nursery to Grade III participated with great zeal, filling the campus with energy, excitement, and a spirit of healthy competition.
The programme was graced by Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, MLA Ramgarh and Former Minister for Health & Medical Education, J&K, as the Chief Guest. The event was further dignified by the presence of Ms. Yasha Mudgal, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary, Youth Services & Sports Department, as Guest of Honour, along with renowned sports personalities Ms. Roopali Salathia, BCCI Level-2 Coach, and Mr. Chandeep Singh, Asian Taekwondo Champion. Their presence motivated the young students and reinforced the significance of sports in holistic education.
The celebrations commenced with a warm welcome of the dignitaries and a formal Welcome Address, followed by the Lamp Lighting and Torch Lighting Ceremonies, symbolising knowledge, strength, and the true sporting spirit. The formal inauguration took place with the release of balloons, marking the official beginning of the Annual Sports Day celebrations.
A variety of colourful cultural performances, including a Welcome Song and vibrant dance presentations, added charm to the programme. The sporting events were initiated through a clap ceremony. Students of Nursery, LKG, UKG, and Grades I to III enthusiastically participated in various games, showcasing coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Special attractions such as Martial Arts, Skating, and Gatka performances captivated the audience and highlighted the school’s emphasis on physical fitness and diverse sporting disciplines. These performances reflected the confidence, discipline, and rigorous training imparted to students.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony, organised in three phases, honoured winners of sports competitions and academic achievers from Grades I to X, encouraging students to strive for excellence in both academics and co-curricular activities.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal lauded the vision and leadership of Mr. P. P. Charak, Chairman, Srijan International School, Jammu, and appreciated the collective efforts of the management, faculty, and students in successfully organising the event. He emphasised that sports play a vital role in nurturing leadership qualities, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle among children.
The event concluded with a vibrant Culmination Dance, followed by the National Anthem and a formal Vote of Thanks. The successful execution of “NIRMAAN – Annual Sports Day Celebration” was made possible under the guidance of the school leadership, including Vice Principal Ms. Kiranjit Kaur, Headmistress Ms. Sushma Choudhary, Administrative Officer Ms. Ankita Choudhary, Senior CCA Head Ms. Sakshi Sharma, Junior CCA Head Ms. Seema, and Assistant Coordinator Ms. Sonali, reflecting the institution’s commitment to holistic education and all-round development.
