KATHUA, Jasrota: BJP MLA from Jasrota, Rajiv Jasrotia, today organized a press conference to highlight the key features and long-term vision of the Union Budget 2026–27, terming it a visionary, inclusive and future-oriented budget that lays a strong foundation for making India a developed nation by 2047. Prominent among those present on the occasion included Distt President Updesh Andotra , Distt Spokesperson Adv Shashi Pal , Co – Convenor Adv Kasturi Lal , Distt Vice President Anil Singh , Mandal Pardhan Logate Surinder Singh , Mandal Pradhan Dinga Amb Deepak Sharma , Samar Singh , Ashok Jasrotia besides others.
Addressing the media, Rajiv Jasrotia expressed his sincere gratitude to all media representatives for attending and covering the budget discussion. He informed that a dedicated district-level team has been constituted for detailed outreach and discussions on the budget, comprising the District Vice-President, party spokespersons, senior party members, Advocate representatives and Divinder Pathania ji, who will also share their perspectives on various aspects of the budget.
Jasrotia said that the main objective of the press conference was to present a clear and factual understanding of the Union Budget 2026–27 to the public. He noted that the district leadership would be taking the lead in addressing the media, while the party remains fully focused on disseminating the budget’s vision and benefits.Referring to the last eleven years of governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP MLA stated that the country has witnessed consistent and structural economic transformation. “This budget is not an isolated document; it is part of a long-term journey. The Hon’ble Prime Minister has given a clear vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, and the Union Budget 2024–25 serves as a blueprint for achieving that goal while strengthening Atmanirbhar Bharat,” he said.
Jasrotia emphasized that due to sustained economic reforms, massive infrastructure investments and people-friendly tax measures, India has emerged as one of the world’s leading economies. “This transformation did not happen overnight. It is the result of disciplined governance, policy continuity and focused development over the past decade,” he added.Terming the budget as futuristic and inclusive, the MLA said it has something for every section of society—farmers, youth, women, entrepreneurs, MSMEs, industries and common citizens. He stressed that unlike populist budgets, this one prioritizes long-term national interest with a clear 21-year roadmap toward a developed India.
Highlighting major initiatives, Jasrotia pointed to investments in high-speed rail corridors, railway expansion, roads, tunnels and power infrastructure, which will strengthen India’s growth engine. He said special emphasis has been laid on manufacturing and innovation, with targeted support for sectors such as biopharma, electronics, chemical parks and textile parks. MSMEs and startups will benefit from growth funds, enhanced credit guarantees and improved access to finance.In the agriculture sector, he noted that new schemes will be rolled out in selected districts, along with improvements in storage and post-harvest infrastructure. In healthcare, significant relief has been provided through duty reductions on cancer drugs and support for domestic biopharma manufacturing. Education will see the establishment of new laboratories in thousands of schools and colleges, strengthening skill development and innovation.
Responding to criticism from opposition leaders regarding allocations to education and healthcare as a percentage of GDP, Jasrotia said budgeting is a matter of balance and foresight. “This government has never neglected basic needs. A budget must manage income and expenditure responsibly while preparing the nation for future growth. Wherever improvements are needed, the government will continue to act,” he asserted.The BJP MLA underlined that although a budget is presented annually, it reflects a long-term vision. “This budget marks the beginning of a new phase—a confident, self-reliant and developed India,” he said.
Speaking on regional development, including Jammu and Kashmir, Jasrotia stated that the central government has always shown sensitivity and commitment toward the region. “Development will continue at the block, district and UT levels, keeping farmers, youth, entrepreneurs and all communities at the centre of policymaking,” he added.Concluding his address, Rajiv Jasrotia reaffirmed his commitment as an MLA to consistently raise issues related to roads, healthcare, education and everyday public concerns of the Jasrota constituency. “People have reposed their trust in me. I assure them that I will continue to hold the government accountable and ensure that development and rights reach every household,” he said.
