Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament – State Round held in J&K Legislative Assembly

JAMMU :  MY Bharat J&K under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India successfully organized the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament – State Round in the prestigious Central Hall of J&K Legislative Assembly. The event brought together winners of the District Round to discuss the theme “Union Budget 2026: Strengthening the Indian Youth’s Path Towards Viksit Bharat 2047”.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Sh Javed Rana, Cabinet Minister of Jal Shakti, Forest and Tribal Affairs, J&K, who emphasized the importance of youth engagement in nation-building. “The youth of J&K are the architects of a developed India. Their ideas and perspectives are crucial in shaping the country’s future,” he said.

A distinguished jury comprising Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal (MLA Ramgarh), Ms. Sunaina Mehta (Principal, Revenue Training Institute, Jammu), Prof Mushtaq Ahmad Wani (Former member of JKPSC and HOD Geography, Amar Singh College, Srinagar), Prof Tariq Ahmad Shah (Ex Prof and Head, Plant Pathology, SKUAST Srinagar), and Sh. Simranjeet Singh (Reputed Journalist and Writer) evaluated the participants’ performances.

Dignitaries present included Sh Manoj Kumar Pandita Secretary J&K Legislative Assembly,Sh Nisar Ahmad Butt, State Director MY Bharat J&K, Sh Nitin, Deputy Director MY Bharat Rajouri, Khushal Gupta, Deputy Director MY Bharat Jammu, and Dr Gurpreet Kour, Program Officer NSS GCW Parade.

Amit Katoch was adjudged the Winner while Hemanya Puri and Bhavna Sharma were Second and Third respectively. The participants presented their views on the Union Budget 2026 and its impact on India’s development trajectory. The winners will now participate in the National Round of Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament, showcasing their skills on a broader platform.

The event aimed to empower youth, encourage their participation in nation-building, and provide a platform for them to share ideas and contribute to India’s development journey. The Staff of the Legislative Assembly Secretariat provided necessary support and coordination for the successful holding of the event. The Youth Volunteers Rakshant Balotra, Suhani Sharma, Prashant Khajuria and others also provided necessary support.
