Pawan Sharma calls on Omar Abdullah government to prioritize people’s needs in the Jammu and Kashmir budget

JAMMU : Pawan Sharma, a senior BJP leader and former state secretary, emphasized that as the Omar Abdullah government prepares to present the Jammu and Kashmir budget on March 3, 2025, it should prioritize the people’s needs, ensuring the budget is justified, productive, and prosperous, addressing long-standing issues such as unemployment, infrastructure development, and social welfare.

Sharma noted that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have high hopes from this budget, emphasizing the importance of the government meeting these expectations. We recommend a budget that supports inclusive growth, stimulates economic development, and ensures equal opportunities for all.

According to Sharma, the social sector requires increased funding for healthcare, education, and social welfare programs, as well as targeted efforts to empower women and marginalized groups. Promoting tourism is essential, as it significantly contributes to our state’s economy. Therefore, the government should focus on developing new tourist destinations and upgrading existing infrastructure.

Pawan Sharma has stressed the need for the government to provide job opportunities for the youth in Jammu and Kashmir through its budget, a critical step towards alleviating the region’s unemployment crisis.

Sharma further reiterated that the BJP has always been committed to the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, and we will conduct a detailed analysis of the budget to ensure it aligns with our goals for a prosperous and developed Jammu and Kashmir.

Pawan Sharma appeals to the Omar Abdullah administration to ensure transparency and accountability in budget allocation, thereby empowering the people of Jammu and Kashmir with knowledge of their tax money’s utilization.

Sharma stressed the importance of continuing to work towards a budget that benefits all sections of society, with a special focus on the marginalized and underprivileged, and called on the government to engage with all stakeholders, including opposition parties, to craft a budget that genuinely represents the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
