June 13, 2026: Continuing its sustained crackdown against drug trafficking and substance abuse under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, District Police Reasi achieved another significant success by apprehending a drug peddler and recovering a heroin from his possession.
On 13.06.2026, during routine naka checking at Searli Check Post, a police team of Police Station Katra intercepted a person on suspicion. Upon questioning, he disclosed his identity as Liyaqat Ali S/o Kala Mohd, R/o Chak Bhagtha.
During his personal search, the police recovered 21 grams of contraband heroin (Chitta), which had been concealed inside the sock of his right foot in an attempt to evade detection.
Acting promptly, Police Station Katra registered FIR No. 185/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act and further investigation into the case has been taken up.
