Lolab Winter Festival 2025: A Grand Celebration of Culture, Tourism, and Scenic Beauty

Kupwara, January 11: The serene valley of Kariwan in Lolab, Kupwara, came alive as the much-anticipated Lolab Winter Festival concluded successfully today. Drawing thousands of visitors and locals, the event showcased the breathtaking beauty and vibrant cultural heritage of Lolab Valley over an action-packed weekend.

 

The festival, aimed at celebrating the winter season and promoting the region’s tourism potential, featured an array of captivating activities. Highlights included traditional music performances, snow volleyball championships, skiing demonstrations, Kashmiri Rowf and Gojri songs, Punjabi folk tunes, local handicraft exhibitions, guided nature walks, and a diverse range of culinary offerings.

 

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan; DDC Chairman Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Pandipuri; Vice Chairman DDC, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir; SSP Kupwara, Ghulam Jeelani; DDC Sogam, Nasir Lone, along with district and sectoral officers, senior police and army officials, and a large gathering of local residents and employees.

 

A standout attraction was the craft market featuring skilled artisans from the region, providing visitors a glimpse of Lolab’s rich craftsmanship. Visitors also had the opportunity to explore the valley’s stunning landscapes through guided tours, further enhancing the festival’s appeal.

 

Speaking to the media, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan, emphasized the festival’s role in promoting Lolab Valley as a key tourist destination. She expressed her gratitude to all stakeholders, including local administration, public representatives, police, the army, and the general public, for their collective efforts in making the event a resounding success.

 

Local leaders and dignitaries praised the seamless collaboration of the district administration and various departments in organizing the festival. They lauded the event’s ability to highlight the cultural and natural wealth of the region while fostering community spirit and tourism development.

 

The Lolab Winter Festival has firmly established itself as a hallmark event, drawing attention to the scenic charm and cultural richness of the valley, and leaving visitors with unforgettable memories.
