Young Professionals Roundtable on “Bharat’s Soft Power: Cultural Diplomacy and Global Influence for Viksit Bharat” Organized at Jammu

JAMMU, 05 June 2026: Under the banner of Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2026, a Young Professionals Roundtable on the theme “Bharat’s Soft Power: Cultural Diplomacy and Global Influence for Viksit Bharat” was successfully organized at Government College for Women, Parade Ground, Jammu by MY Bharat Jammu in collaboration with Shakti Udghosh Foundation, Jammu.

The programme brought together eminent personalities, young achievers, students, and professionals for a meaningful discussion on India’s cultural strengths, global outreach, and the role of youth in realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

The distinguished panel comprised Padma Shri Balwant Thakur, renowned Theatre Director, Cultural Ambassador and Padma Shri Awardee; Shri Nagendra Singh Jamwal, JKAS Officer; and Ms. Swati Basotra, Entrepreneur. The session was moderated by Ms. Preeti Choudhary, Convener, Shakti Udghosh Foundation.

The panelists shared valuable insights on the importance of cultural diplomacy, preservation of heritage, entrepreneurship, leadership, and youth participation in nation-building. They encouraged young people to become ambassadors of India’s rich cultural values and contribute positively towards the country’s development.

A special presentation was delivered by Ms. Suvidha Sambhyal from Government Degree College (GDC), Samba, who had the distinction of presenting before the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India during the National Round of Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2026. Her inspiring journey and experiences motivated the participants and highlighted the transformative impact of youth-led initiatives.

The event was also graced by the presence of Mr. Chander Shekhar, a young achiever from Jammu & Kashmir and a winner on Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), whose participation added further inspiration to the gathering.

Students and youth from various educational institutions actively participated in the roundtable discussion and interacted with the panelists on issues related to leadership, innovation, culture, and youth empowerment.

During the concluding session, Shri Vivek Kumar, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat Jammu, presented Tokens of Appreciation to all the panelists, coordinators, and participating institutions in recognition of their valuable contributions towards the success of the programme.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a collective commitment to strengthen youth engagement and leverage India’s cultural strengths in advancing the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
