Under the dynamic guidance of the Financial Commissioner, Revenue (Addl. Chief Secretary) J&K, Sh.Shaleen Kabra ,IAS, Revenue Training Institute (RTI), Jammu, today witnessed a comprehensive plantation drive, on the eve of World Environment Day 2026, led by Principal Sunaina Sharma Mehta, JKAS, in a strong commitment to environmental conservation and environmental sustainability.
The plantation drive was conducted in the presence of Rajesh Kumar Baru, Tehsildar RTI Jammu, Anita Jamwal Accounts Officer RTI, and other senior officials and officers from the Revenue Department, who actively participated in planting saplings across the institute’s campus.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Sunaina Sharma Mehta, JKAS emphasized the critical importance of environmental stewardship in the current climate crisis. “Environmental preservation is not merely a choice but a responsibility we owe to future generations,” she stated. “As a training institution for revenue officers, RTI Jammu is setting an example by integrating environmental consciousness into our institutional culture.”
Concluding the event, Sunaina Sharma emphasized upon the need for concerted efforts by every citizen to engage more and more stakeholders and youth in the plantation drives extensively, at the grass root levels, so as to increase the public awareness towards ecological balance and environmental sustainability.
